Parsonage Remodel Project
The house was completely remodeled. The bathroom upgrade includes a new tub surround, hand valves and drain kit, paint, vent and sink faucet. The downstairs bedrooms received a fresh coat of paint on walls and trim. The living room ceiling was sagging and was repairs and refinished as well as paint, trim and flooring. The dining room received a fresh coat of paint on the walls and trim as well as new laminate flooring. The kitchen was freshly painted and the box lights on the ceiling were removed and upgraded to 15″ LED lights. The upstairs bathroom and bedroom ceilings were drywalled. The bedroom had new supply and return duct work installed to better heat and cool the upstairs. It was also given a textured (knockdown) wall finish and new carpet and both were freshly painted. To save energy costs, the closet attic accesses were closed off with insulation. The Hope Methodist Youth Fellowship group also volunteered their time to put a fresh coat of paint on the basement walls. Outside the shed got a fresh coat of paint and removed nails poking thru the siding from a safety perspective. During the month of June our attention will turn to landscaping around the parsonage to give it much needed curb appeal with new edging, perennials and mulch. The volunteers are wrapping up a few punch list items. The remodel project is expected to finish on schedule and under budget.

Many thanks to those of you who donated money in support of the parsonage remodel project and to our volunteers that helped move Pastor Pat and Roseann to their new home and helped remodel the parsonage. The gracious volunteers were: Lori & Elgin Childs, Curt & Sonya Alexander, Dale Shedden, Mike & Terri Budek, Judy Sova, Bill & Judy Page, Kathy Arthur, Randy & Gale Hock, Lynsey Avery and Jackson Crego, Brian Tami Cali & Charli Hock. THANK YOU!!!
The new basketball hoop has been installed in the church parking lot. It took quite a bit of muscle to get it lifted into place. Many thanks for all those that stayed after church on June 12 and special thanks to the Crego family for helping out with short notice.
Save the Planet & Church Budget
To save energy, the church and the parsonage have been completely converted to LED lighting except in the basement of the parsonage.
New Montor
We have a new 55 inch TV/monitor for use displaying and sharing presentations, videos or just about anything your committee, Sunday school or youth group might need for larger audiences to view.
Digital Sign and Audio/Visual
The Trustees are also recommending two additional improvement projects in 2022:
1. The first is to replace the large middle section of the sign with a digital sign. This will allow us to have a way to share multiple messages to our community about the great work we do, services we offer and provide inspirational/motivational messages.
2. The second improvement project is for our audio/visual capability. This is intended to be a pilot project where we prove the concept before making additional investments. We are recommending to utilize the existing projector during church service to provide easy to read bulletin material and lyrics for all songs. The second is to start capturing video of the weekly service so people that can not make it to church can still receive the message. This may require the purchase of projector paint or projection screen and a camera stand to get the pilot started. If the pilot is deemed successful, we will continue to improve and upgrade audio/visual equipment and capability over time.
Trustees recommended installation of air conditioning in the sanctuary. On April 19, the Ad Council approved the purchase and installation of the A/C and on May 11th A/C for the sanctuary was installed.
Given the church has had a couple fires, Trustees have embarked on a project to get all historical files scanned into electrons and stored on a computer as well as planning to create copies of hard copy records and store them in multiple locations. Estimates to perform the work was in the thousands of dollars but God sent an angel to help.
Harold (a.k.a. Wilbur) Havens has graciously offered his time and is scanning all of our historical documents into electronic format. What a blessing! Harold is about 25% complete. If you see him, please let him know how much this is appreciated!
Please provide your thoughts and feedback on these improvement projects to any Ad Council or Trustee member.
